 WHAT TO DO FIRST
Call A.J. Desmond & Sons Funeral Directors day or night, at 1-800-210-7135 (Troy) or 1-800-294-5668 (Royal Oak). Upon notifying us, we will make all the arrangements for conveying of the deceased to a local funeral home for embalming, preparation and return to Michigan. You do not have to contact two funeral organizations - we will coordinate everything for you.
WHAT DO YOU SAVE?
When you call us directly, we advance most normal out-of-town costs including standard embalming, out-of-town funeral facilities, and professional staff and services. We bill you a small fee that covers additional professional services, extra auto transfers, and, if needed, the required airline outer container. Airfare is billed at cost. To keep airfare to a minimum, we use a dignified light weight transfer casket and outer container. When death occurs within one day driving distance, your only cost is the long-distance transportation.
INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL
If a family member dies while traveling outside the United States, contact the U.S. Embassy and they will assist you. Then call us immediately; we are well-versed in the procedures for returning the deceased to the United States
DEATH HERE FOR OUT-OF-TOWN RESIDENT
You can be certain that we will work with your local funeral director so that everything is handled as you wish. Your convenience is our number one priority. Everything will be handled with the highest level of professionalism and your costs will be kept under control.
OTHER CONDITIONS
If the death occurs outside of the forty-eight contiguous states or your family has already engaged another funeral firm, we will apply liberal credits to services provided by others when selecting one of our complete full-service funerals. Our membership in the National Funeral Directors Association and other national organizations provides us with funeral service contacts worldwide. | |
