Edward Orsini was born in Detroit, Michigan, on April 16, 1943, to the late Louis and Clara (nee Minano) Orsini.

Raised in Detroit, Ed graduated from De LaSalle High School in 1961. He went on to the University of Notre Dame where he obtained his degree in Business Administration and continued on to the University of Michigan where he earned his MBA. Ed then entered the United States Army for two years and served in Vietnam. He worked for Ford Motor his whole career and retired as the Chief Financial Officer Ford S.A. He had worked in Mexico, Argentina and Brazil.

Ed married his childhood sweetheart Serena and was married for 45 years. He lived and worked for his family. He was proud of his service to his country.

Ed enjoyed his grandsons and especially loved to watch them play hockey.

Beloved husband of Serena. Dearest father of Andrea Orsini and Marc Orsini. Proud grandfather of Geoffrey, Dominic, Roman, Nikolas and Giancarlo. Most loving brother of Mary Louise Orsini. Loving cousin and loyal friend to many.

Funeral Service Monday 11a.m., October 14, 2013, at A.J. Desmond & Sons Funeral Home (Vasu, Rodgers & Connell Chapel), 32515 Woodward (4 blocks S. of 14 Mile Rd.) Family will receive friends Sunday 2-8 PM.

For 25 years, South Oakland Shelter (SOS) has worked with its 67 partner congregations to provide temporary lodging and supportive services that help homeless individuals and families break the cycle of homelessness, and live independently. With an emphasis on homeless prevention, sustainable housing solutions, and career development, SOS implements strategies and programs that provide realistic options for homeless and at-risk individuals and families seeking stabilization and self-sufficiency.
