ELIZABETH BUTKA "BETTY" (NEE RUSSELL), died December 12, 2012, at age 92. She was a resident of Beverly Hills for 57 years, and was formerly of Gaylord.
Betty graduated from St. Hyacinth grade school, and from North East High School in Detroit in 1938.
She was the long time owner of Westwood Carpentry in Beverly Hills; and the former secretary at father's business, Russell Plastering Company.
Betty was an active member of Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church Altar Society.
Betty enjoyed cards, casino, camping, travel, snowmobiling, golf and gardening.
Beloved wife of the late Alexander A. Butka. Dear mother of Arleen E. Ellis (Tom), Judy A. Tarsney (Jeff), William A. (Mary Ann), and Peggy S. Broughton (Tom). Also survived by 12 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Sister of Louis Russell, Mary Ann Davey and the late Robert Russell and Richard Russell. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
The Funeral Mass will be Saturday, December 15, 2012 - 11 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs, 32340 Pierce Street, Beverly Hills, with Rev. Scott Thibodeau officiating. Visitation at church begins at 10 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made to: Capuchin Soup Kitchen or Beaumont Hospice
