James R. Wilder was born on November 10, 1933, in Varmint County, Tennessee, to the late James and Martha Wilder.
James R., as he was called by his loving wife, Mathelda, was a hard working and dedicated family man. He and his wife had travelled around the country as he worked in the building trades installing drywall. They settled in Royal Oak, Michigan, in 1967, and opened Wilder & Sons Drywall Company. He operated his company until union practices forced him to close. Later, he established the very successfu T.J. Drywall Company, which he ran for many years.
James R. died suddenly, December 3, 2012, at the age of 79. He was a U.S. Army Veteran.
Beloved husband of Mathelda Faye for 58 years. Dear father of Barbara, John (Carol), Robert (Jeannie), Patricia and Karen Luczak (Jerome). Loving grandfather of 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters and three brothers.
He will be lovingly missed by everyone he has touched. He was an amazing man who was adored by all!
The Funeral Service will be Thursday, December 6, 2012 - 9 a.m. at A.J. Desmond & Sons Funeral Home, 2600 Crooks Road, Troy (between Maple and Big Beaver), with The Rev. Charles Whitfield officiating.
Burial will follow with military honors at Christian Memorial Cultural Center in Rochester Hills, MI.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, December 4, from 5-8 p.m. and Wednesday, December 5, from 2-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
