Mary Anna Oss "Peewee", mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great grandmother and friend.
Mary is a special woman beloved by her daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She lived a full life never wanting for more than the company of her family. For many years she operated a parking lot at the Hazel Park raceway and was known to always have the "best pick" of the day.
Born in Lackawanna, New York, and orphaned at an early age Mary spent her early years in Detroit, Michigan. For a brief time she lived in Havre, MT with her sister Lucy. Mary was a Hazel Park resident from 1945 through 1984, moving to Southfield and then the Birmingham/Bloomfield area. She loved to fish and did so on vacations at Walloon Lake. Her chocolate cookies delighted her grandchildren. Embroidery was also a favorite past time. She was a member of the Bloomfield Township Friendship Club.
She married Clarence Oss in Detroit, MI on Nov 16 at St. Jerome's Church, Detroit MI. Clarence preceded her in death in 1985. Surviving children include Claire Michelini (Lawrence), and Lucille Patricia Petrie (Ross J). Grandchildren include Dennis (Lisa), Kenneth (Barbara), Daniel (Pam), Matthew (Flora) Michelini and RJ (Caprice) and Robert (Gretchen) Petrie. 11 great grandchildren Allison, Drew, Logan, Reed, Jack, Isabella, Alexandra, Jacqueline and Paulina Michelini and Gavin and Carryn Petrie.
Mary's father Anthony Baricevic and mother, Mildred Tadej preceded her in death as well as her three siblings, sister Lucy Lawlor, and brothers Michael and George Baricevic.
Family welcomes friends to celebrate her life Sunday, January 20, 2013 from 4:00 – 7:00pm at 3340 Berkshire, Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.
