Dick was an avid 2 handicap golfer, and former member of the Western Golf & Country Club, where he was a past club champion. Golf was his passion, though he loved most sports especially U of M football and the Detroit Red Wings. He was quite athletic himself. Dick was the starting quarterback for Western Michigan University, where he obtained a bachelor(TM)s degree in accounting in 1958. He was also a member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity.

He retired as a CPA having owned his own practice for many years. In years past, he enjoyed performing in Community Theatre in Ann Arbor. He had a beautiful singing voice. His patient nature and bright smile will be greatly missed.

He is survived by wife, Annie, two children, Sara Barnhill and Elizabeth Alexakis (George) as well as two stepchildren, Gary Clayton (Jen) and Christine Clayton. Also surviving are six grandchildren: Gary Michael Clayton, Christian Field, Michael Alexakis, Olivia Clayton, Katherine Alexakis, and Sami Clayton, as well as a sister Sue Seeley (Ben), and a brother Ken (Ouida Cash). He was also the beloved uncle to numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter, “Jenny”, his parents, Kenneth and Alice, and a beloved wife, Sadie “Sally”.

Family will receive friends at A.J. Desmond & Sons (Vasu, Rodgers & Connell Chapel), 32515 Woodward Ave. (btwn 13-14 Mile) Sunday 2-8pm. Rosary 7pm. Funeral Mass Monday 10:30am at St. Columban Church, 1775 Melton, Birmingham.
