ROBERT ALLEN BOGAN, JR.
February 18, 1928 – July 5, 2012
Robert Allen Bogan, Jr. was born on February 18 , 1928 in Detroit, Michigan. His proud parents were Robert A. and Dorothy W. (nee Gaa) Bogan. He died on July 5, 2012 at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan. He was a longtime resident of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.
Bob graduated from Redford High School, Redford Township, Michigan in 1946 and Michigan State University, East Lansing, Michigan in 1951, with a bachelor degree in English and a secondary school teaching certification. He was a member of the Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity and the Detroit Jaycees. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army, achieving the rank of Quartermaster, and served in Kobe, Japan from 1946 – 1948 during World War II.

1951-1952: Teacher in English, History, Social Sciences at Redford Union High School
1952-1961: Michigan Bell, Administration
1962-1963: Metropolitan Savings and Loan, Assistant Vice President
1963-1972: Executive Director, The Community House, Birmingham, MI
1972-1998: Executive Director, Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants
Bob was a devoted volunteer for the Michigan Humane Society, the Michigan Accountancy Foundation and the Community House of Birmingham.
Through the MACPA scholarships, he has contributed to the education of students in accounting programs and will continue to do so.
Bob was the beloved husband of the late Leona "Lee Stevens", who died on February 4, 2000. He is survived by his cousins: Roy Yanke (Debbie), Drew Yanke (Kimber), Darci Yanke, Janice Heine (Joe), Michele Jones, Krista Tower (Joel), Thomas M. Jones, Emilie Little, Keith Jones (Susan), Chris Ternenyi (George).
He was loved by people in many different circles. He enjoyed socializing and bringing friends together. He will be truly missed.
A memorial reception will be held at the Community House of Birmingham at a later date. Committal services were held privately at White Chapel Cemetery in Troy, Michigan.
In lieu of flowers family suggests memorial tributes to the Robert Bogan Scholarship Fund at the Michigan Accountancy Foundation, the Community House of Birmingham or the Michigan Humane Society.
