Rose Mary Schneider was born in Detroit Michigan to Peter and Rose (nee:Harley) Snyder. She enjoyed making lifelong friends and her out-going personality suited her well as an actress in local theater productions. She grew up on Seminole Street in Detroit and graduated from St. Catherine High School. Four years later she would graduate with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Marygrove College. Rose Mary contributed in her way to the WWII effort as a USO Hostess.
Next, Rose Mary started her career in law enforcement with the Detroit Police Department. She would gain national notoriety as a pistol champion at the inter-precinct pistol matches as the forces sharpest shooter! In 1948, Rose Mary married Harold Schneider on April 3. She then started to teach second grade at the Emerson Elementary School.
Rose Mary shared many years with a multitude of friends and children and grand-children and siblings. She will be greatly missed by them and will serve as an example for others to aspire to.
Wife of the late Harold H. Dear mother of Thomas J. (Gaytha), James H. (Sarah) and Mary Ann Bucalos (Larry). Sister of the late Virginia Sullivan and L. Harley Snyder. Grandmother of Matthew and Ginnie Schneider, Nicole Rose Bucalos and Elizabeth Wertz.
The family will receive friends Friday, December 14, 2012 from 1-3 p.m. and 5-7 p.m. at A.J. Desmond & Sons Funeral Home, 2600 Crooks Road (between Maple and Big Beaver).
The Funeral Mass will be Saturday, December 15 - 9 a.m. at Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church, 2700 Walden Rd., Lake Orion, with Rev. Joe Dailey officiating.
Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Southfield.
