Longtime Contractor, Entrepreneur and Inventor in the Detroit Area

Theodore Guido Piccirilli was born on January l, 1924 in Pacentro, Italy. His parents were Giuseppe and Carolina (nee Casasanta) Piccirilli. He died on Sunday, March 17, 2013 in the loving care of the Lourdes Senior Community in Waterford, Michigan. He was 89 years of age.

Over the years, family and friends would call him "Ted"

Ted was a resident of Orchard Lake, Michigan and a former resident of Detroit, Michigan. His family immigrated from Italy in 1934 and he became a United States citizen in 1939. He was a proud veteran of the United States Navy and served during World War II. He was an accomplished inventor and held several patents. He was an underground contractor with the Piccirilli Contruction Company and, later with the Fairmack Contruction Company. He was a pioneer in pipeline rehabilitation and founded AquaView & Associates in 1964. In 1982, he founded the Telespector Corporation, a design and manufacturing company involved in pipeline inspection and repair systems.

"I wanted to build systems that were designed from a contractor's perspective."

Ted was extremely proud of his Italian heritage and was an accomplished wine and sausage maker. He enjoyed photography, singing, dancing and travelling to his home in Pacentro, Italy.

Beloved husband of Assunta Piccirilli (nee Lepore) and they were married for 65 years. Dear father of Joseph (Ingrid), David, Theodora Zurbrick (Stephen), Daniel (Beauty), Donna Meyer (Anthony) and Christina Kerrigan. Grandfather of Jason, Matthew, Theo, Tomasso, Alyssa, Jackson, Kaitlyn, Sean and great grandson Hayden. Brother of Albert (Louise), Gino (Marisa), Nina Sanfemio (the late Anthony) and the late Leo (Anna) and Lillian Agostinelli (Concezio). Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

The Piccirilli Family will receive friends at A.J. Desmond & Sons Funeral Home (Vasu, Rodgers & Connell Chapel), 32515 Woodward (btwn 13-14 Mile), in Royal Oak on Thursday, March 21, 2013 from 3-8p.m.with a Rosary service at 7p.m. Funeral Mass Friday, March 22, 2013 at 11a.m. at Shrine Chapel of Our Lady of Orchard Lake (at St. Mary's College), 3535 Indian Trail, Orchard Lake. Visitation at the chapel begins at ¬¬¬10:30a.m. Memorials to Lourdes Senior Community or C.S.S. Sheltering Arms.
