Thomas was a real family man and wonderful grandfather. He was full of life, skiing until the age of 85, playing golf at 90 and swimming until age 92. In his young years he would water ski barefoot. He also lifted weights and was a personal trainer.
He loved to play cribbage, chess and listen to classical. He also enjoyed trading stocks and considered himself a "day trader".
Beloved husband of the late Mary G. (nee Lubbock) for 66 years. Dear father of Hilary Sontag (Robert) and Howard (Phyllis). Devoted grandfather of 6 and great-grandfather of 16. Brother of the late Frank.
Funeral service Tuesday 11:00a.m. at A.J. Desmond & Sons (Vasu, Rodgers & Connell Chapel), 32515 Woodward (btwn 13-14 Mile). Family will receive friends Monday (today) from 5-9p.m. Memorial tributes to the American Heart Association.
