We are looking for a part-time Funeral Service Associate who handles the following duties:
- Answers phones
- Greets and directs visitors
- Assists grieving families
- Transports deceased to and from funeral homes as directed
- Prepares space for and attends to funeral services
- Receives and moves flower arrangements
- Supports and assists funeral directors to insure the highest quality, most professional, most ethical service
- Monitors parking lot activities; prepared to direct traffic
- Efficiently plans driving routes, drives and arrives at destinations as scheduled
A successful candidate must:
- Possess and display an understanding of the funeral profession
- Have adaptive/team player attitude
- Have professional self-presentation
- Be resourceful and able to multi-task
- Be able to stand for extended periods of time
- Be able to lift and move up to 40 pounds occasionally and up to 15 pounds of force frequently
- Have pleasant phone manner
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent and some professional experience
- Possess a valid driver’s license and have an insurable driving record
This is a part time position, typically scheduled about 10-15 hours weekly with a varying schedule consisting mostly of weekends and some weekday evenings. An applicant must have availability on weekends from 8:00am-9:00pm and some availability Monday thru Friday from 5:00pm-10:00pm. Qualified candidates must have strong communication skills and the tact and ability to perform in dynamic and sometimes stressful conditions. Standing, lifting and driving are required.
