If there is to be a memorial service, an urn may serve as a focal point. The cremated remains may be buried in a family plot at a cemetery, placed in a columbarium niche, or kept in a special place at home. Some families share the cremated remains, each choosing a keepsake urn to hold a small amount. Environmentally safe, biodegradable urns can be used for burial or scattering at sea. What you will be doing with the cremated remains will impact urn selection. There are choices for every taste and budget.
